TITLE: Intern - Environmental Health and Safety
LOCATION: Lincoln, NE
Every day, Kelly services connects professionals with opportunities to advance their careers. We currently have an exciting contract opportunity for a Intern - Environmental Health and Safety at one of our top clients in Lincoln, NE.
Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
- Ability to conduct safety & environmental training and to write procedures
- Compliance and Enforcement of all Health, Safety & Environment Issues
- Project and Field Report Audits, Contractor Audits, Emissions permits and reports
- Documentation, Tracking, Reporting
- Write and train on processes to sustain ongoing compliance, Evaluate and ensure corrective actions are in place, Coordinate accident/Incident reports
- Training, Certificates, Record Keeping
- New hires safety training orientations, Organize and maintain documents, Setup and maintain Incidents/accident database
- Environmental Issues
- Regulatory permitting, tracking and reporting. Implement policies and enforce compliance.
- Assist the HSE Department in any issues relating to:
- Provide environmental compliance with regulations such as Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act,
- Occupational Safety and Health Act
- Resource Conservation & Recovery Act
- Conduct weekly new hire orientation training at Our Client HSE standards.
- Assist in facility inspections to ensure compliance with environmental permits and spill prevention plan.
- Monitor and collect samples of effluent discharge to track pollutant levels, and devise strategy to counteract any pollutant levels that fall out of environmental compliance
- Compile data, prepare and review facility Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) pursuant toward National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit.
- Write policies and procedures relating to HSE, such as Hazardous Material transport and Fire Protection Concept, based on corporate guidelines and federal/state regulations.
- Address work-site safety concerns and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
- Conduct risk assessment and evaluation of production processes related to company brands.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Science or related field
- Technical writing skills
