The Role
Edelman is looking for an Account Manager to work within its 20-strong award winning Public Affairs team in London. This role will work across a portfolio of global and UK accounts providing strategic counsel to clients. The successful candidate will work primarily on energy accounts, but with an additional focus across a number of policy areas potentially including sustainability and the environment, infrastructure and planning.
Key responsibilities
• Acting as an expert resource on energy and related policy areas
• Drive implementation of public affairs and stakeholder engagement programmes
• Contribute to pitching for new business
• Contribute to strategy plans and proposals, providing strategic counsel to clients and colleagues
• Monitor key developments pertaining to government issue sets and wider political policy and report on these accordingly
• Provide input into agency wide communications activities
• Undertake research and develop research portfolios for review internally and by clients
Key candidate requirements
• A strong and demonstrable knowledge of the energy sector, and the relevant Government policies, is essential
• Knowledge of Parliamentary procedure and current affairs, and/or some agency or in-house experience working within Government, Parliament the civil service or the wider public affairs industry
• Demonstrated superior writing skills
• Ability to undertake research and report on emerging political and policy developments
• Strong oral communication skills and solid interpersonal skills that enable positive influencing of others
• An entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to work effectively within a team
• Demonstrated experience taking initiative and ownership of all work, within a fast paced environment.
Salary is negotiable depending on experience,
