Overall Position Description: Person with sewing skills to sew and assemble Knuckle Warmers. Knuckle Warmers are fabric motorcycle handlebar covers that keep the hands warm when riding in cold, windy, rainy weather.
Job Duties:
1. Layout fabric in preparation for cutout
2. Cutout fabric using pattern
3. Prepare fabric to be sewn
4. Sew fabric
5. Assemble Knuckles Warmers
6. Inspect completed product & make any required adjustments
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience:
· Knowledge and experience:
o Familiarity with how sewing machine works (thread needle, install bobbin, change stitches).
o Laying out fabric.
o Using a pattern to cut out material to be sewed.
o Excellent organizational, time management skills.
· Ability to:
o Fluently read, write & understand English.
o Understand & follow directions as given.
o Complete tasks accurately & in a timely manner.
o Work on multiple projects by planning and effectively prioritizing.
o Work with minimal supervision & work independently.
o Maintain professional demeanor and act in a professional manner.
o Work effectively under deadlines.
o Pay attention to detail and provide a high level of quality of control/accuracy.
o Listen, understand & ask questions.
o Identify problems, review information, analyze options & apply solutions.
o Follow guidelines to arrange objects or actions in a certain order.
Required Education:High School Diploma or GED
Description of Physical Demands:
· Physical ability to:
o Stand and work at cutting table laying out and cutting fabric.
o Sit at sewing machine and sew.
o Manual dexterity and strength to assemble Knuckle Warmers. This includes inserting small bendable lengths of wire which form the shape of the Knuckle Warmer.
Work Environment:
· Must thrive and perform well, being the sole person making the Knuckle Warmers.
· 10-15 hours a week, 4-5 hours at a time.
· Non-smoking environment.
Salary Range: $9-$12/DOE
